Spreader settings

I've noticed on some bags of fertilizer that Lesco & several other mfgrs have letters instead of #s for thier spreader settings but the spreader settings are numeric, what gives?

It varies. Fertilizers, walking speed,swath and spreaders vary. You have to guess, apply to 1000 sqft adjust and try again.
