No MV control with Hunter X-Core controller

We were finishing up a job with a MV and wanted to shut off the MV for half the zones but cannot find anyplace in the manual where this is possible.

Anyone have any knowledge of being able to do this?

John

Why expect an entry-level controller to have all the advanced functions of the more expensive ones?

If you shut off the master valve for half the zones , nothing will work . The flow of water stops for the whole system. What would be the point of doing this?

If it were a booster pump, that's where the function comes into play.

Not many clocks have a programmable by program master valve feature.

We have the MV plumbed for half the zones. Everything works well with the MV opening for all zones as the water will go to the open valve. It is not a huge factor for this app but in certain situations it would rule out this controller if it is not possible to manage the MV.

Hence I was asking for past experiences if there is a "secret" way to manage the MV. If not possible, I will make decisions accordingly, thank you very much.

Thanks for the opines.

John

Do you mean that half of the zones are upstream of the MV?

The Pro-C has programable master valve by station. This comes in handy for systems with a booster pump and certain stations do not need the pump. It comes in handy. I've seen systems without this feature and the booster pump running small spray zones with no telling what kind of pressure.
