Irrigation heads?

How do you guys handle irrigation heads in turf area?

I've got some that the LCO before me has been trimming to dirt around the heads with the trimmer, these look like crop circles to me.

I've got some that I keep just the bare minimum around the head cleaned out so the they can rise and retract without a problem.

I've got a couple new properties that I haven't even seen where the heads are, will be running systems in the next week to find all heads.

I don't like the looks of the donuts though several customers have them.

Whoever does the wet-checks ought to make sure the spray heads are not impeded by turf.

Look into Sprinkler head Cutters that attach in place of the Weed Eater string cutter Head. Yes this requires having an extra weed eater. One week you run the edger and the next you cut sprinklers head. Paying attention to details is what make you a success. Learning not to scalp with a weed eater is like one huge step in the process of giving professional work. Diagonal Cut patterns that vary from week to week show a real care for your work.

I had those cutter heads. I couldn't let them go more than a week without having to do them again. Was adding time having to get out the trimmer with the cutter head on it each week, when I could get okay results with a trimmer alone.

I got the cutter heads because I seen them online and wanted to try them. Used the dealer locator on their site and went to the nearest one. He said they never took off so they stopped carrying them and gave me all the cutter heads (4 or 5) he had left over for $15.

How often do you have to use them? So how many trimmers do you have them set up on for different sizes?

I am located in SW Florida. Mainly dealing with St Augustine turf types. The original TAS Trimmer is the model I use the most. I average 75 donuts trimmed in 15 mins time. I touch up all heads once a month due to the year round growing season here. I can trim on average 1000 to 1200 donuts per TAS Trimmer. Cost $19.95, that would be for the 7" model. I find the videos posted on YouTube about this product very informative.

Same area for me. No way I could go once a month with them. So how many trimmers do you have them set up on? How many different sizes do you use?

Full disclosure, yes. And still going strong after 20 years, it ain't bragging if it's true.
I only have the one model set up on one trimmer the 7" model.
