Mike's trying to find me a F-550. He would 3 hes working on getting one of them.

Im still on the fence between the Ram and Ford. Itl probably come down to which total deal is cheper.

Yup thats the body Im looking at buying. Im also looking at having my local body company build me that same body.

Forget the brand of truck, the cummins motor and reputation kills anything ford has ever offered. Ford guys will jump all over this statement but that's because they have never owned one.

I'm pretty sure the cummins will get better mpg.
The cummins will start in sub zero weather if it gets 3 revolutions with no glow plugs. Try that with a ford motor-
It will run until the truck is worth nothing.
It is used in generators, that run non stop at high rpm for months straight
It is used in heavy iron equipment
Fire trucks use them

All you really need to do is own one for 3 years and you will in time understand and appreciate all the differences

Yup for the body, Mike has one waynes body in stock. Meadows Hydraulics here in Fruitland MD also can make me the same body, with a few minor changes for the same price as the body wayne built. Im not sure which way im gonna go on the body. Theyd both be great choices. Waynes would be quicker b/c they already have it, but I deal with Meadows all the time and itd be easier for them to fix it if i had any problems down the road.

On the Ram of Ford debate, here what Ive kinda put together between the two from talking to multiple people.

The ford is a built a bit larger, has larger breaks, larger chassis and overall is a bit more heavy duty. the Ram in my opinion does have the better engine but Im nervous about hows the rest of the truck going to hold up for 3-6 years with around 19k on it almost everyday. My current 2010 F-450 has held up great as far as the body, I just dont trust my 6.4 engine lol. Also The nearest Ram dealer that works on these trucks is over an hour away. Ive got a ford dealer that can work on 550's here in my town.

Now I havent been able to find a direct comparison between the two trucks to see how big the brakes are, how large the chassis is, how big this and that are, If anyone knows where I can compare each side by side thatd be great.

My truck should be done by the end of the week. Now just need to decide on the plow. One plow dealer really want us to try a Boss but every other plow we own is a Western and knock on wood have never really had any major problems with them. This one will also have a Salt dogg poly unit on it.

Nice, what kind of truck did you get?

Also I have one Western and one Boss and I like them both. Havent used either much

350 crew chassis XL with windows and locks 6.7 4x4 w/ 9' Eby aluminum flatbed with 2 under body boxes and 15" sides.
