Hey Ant,
From what I've read on the IRS website, the 1099 form is one of the few that are not supposed to be printed on your printer. It says something to the effect that the form from the IRS is ink sensitive on the 1099 form when it it is read through their computers. You can order it through their form phone line or go to Staples which is what I'm going to do tomorrow.

If you are doing just one, you can use an 'old fashioned' typewriter, or neatly print it in ink.

The office stores have them to be used in your printer. But they come in a 25 pack if I recall correctly. Or you can order them from Quickbooks also, not sure what their minimum amount is.

Pay the man!

You are spending more than that in time and effort to try to figure it out yourself.

Yes, Quickbooks will do it. You will have to go to Office Depot and buy a package of forms (50 forms in package) for $10 or $12, figure out how to do it, where to send to the IRS, etc.

Think about it, then give the info to your accountant and get it out of your hair.

Bruce,
LOL That's what I was going to post. But since its his off season I can't argue with trying to save a buck or 2. So I assumed a trip to Office Max wouldn't be a real loss of revenue, and there's usually soemthing else needed when one goes to those stores. And you can actually do it all online without having to drive there. If they were due in April, without a doubt pay the man & get to making real money.

Anthony you can also get the forms from the irs.gov website, they just might not run through your printer, so you'd have to transfer the info that QB gives you.
