Aerating through tall grass

Would it make a difference if you were aerating with grass being 5" tall?

Charge them for a lawn cutting then an aeration.

Should be ok to aerate 5 inch tall grass if you're not going to seed it. If you're seeding too then it should be cut fairly short.
