Donaldson Air Filter System

I have repowered an old Scag hydro walk behind with a 20hp Briggs Vanguard. The stock air filter seems to be inadequate for the engine. If it barely gets dirty at all it begins to choke the engine making it sputter and run rich. What would be the easiest way of going about getting a donaldson filter system for it. Has anyone done this? This is ticking me off, I've never had any problems with Kawasakis.

I know nothing of carbs, but I have a 23hp kawi and my dealer told me he won't install one due to the carb. Supposedly it won't run properly. Don't know but I'm going to get a second opinion. Rotary sells a filter set up just like it but a lot cheaper too. Talk to your dealer or small engine shop

Maybe run some piping and use one of these?

Best Filter system out there. Just dont use the black inner filter. Use the the blue and white ones. I put them on my BobCat walkbehind, Grillo tiller. Just had my dealer order the larger one that comes on the TT's. Used radiator hose to connect it up. And being carbed has nothing to do with the filter.
