Renting a truck

Has anyone ever rented a truck to do leaf cleanup. I had a friend give me the idea to do this because I am currently looking for a cheap dump truck to use for the fall and my problem is finding a for liable truck for a cheap price has been a tough racket. he is telling me to just rent a truck for now and save money over the winter and buy a better one in the spring. wanted to know what your thoughts are.

I think that would take about all of your profits from the leaf cleanups and then some. Find another contractor with a dump truck and team up for leaves. What do you have now? If u have a pickup with 8' bed just build some sideboards, maybe a 2x12 or couple 2x10s, nothing too big. May have to dump more often but that's cheaper then renting a truck.
