Try Home Depot online. I know they sell PRG especially meant for overseeding for about $50 for a 50 lb bag and delivery is free. One thing you got to worry about in MD is that PRG can do pretty well up there -- it might not die off when the zoysia starts to green up. I'd be incline not to overseed in Md. I'd also be inclined not to have zoysia, but that's the customers call I guess.

No, I think if you overseed, PRG is the way to go, because theoretically it does not like the heat, which means it will fade out when the zoysia greens up. Shade mix won't necessarily do that -- they don't like/need the sunlight, but its not a heat thing. But really, the problem is that in the transition zone, PRG can survive pretty well in summer. Some people go with annual ryegrass for that reason instead, but it is ugly stuff IMO. Some people paint the grass. At least the PRG that home depot sells is designed to be less heat tolerant. It is called Barenbrug 50 lb. Panterra V OverSeeding Rye Grass Seed http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053 It might be ok for you.

PRG likes sun, but should do Ok with 4-6 hours of sun/dappled sun. Really deep shade, nothing will work well for overseed; but, u could try a hail Mary with a fine fescue, boreal, chewings, like that if PRG doesn't germinate after 7days in the shaded areas.
