The old vanguard could sell to the big-box stores and not insult their pro customers too much. Rainbird put older product designs on store shelves, and Toro did likewise, with the Super600 upgrade the trade turned their noses up at, waiting until it morphed into the S700.

It's kind of funny, come to think of it, that the Toro S700 head is gonzo, but the S606 it replaced is still sold at big-box stores.
