Freightliner FL70 vs Int 4700
Freightliner FL 70 with a 5.9 Cummings or an international 4700 466. Pros and cons of both? Also freightliner has a 5 speed with a single speed rear? What tranny would it be?

I have a 1996 4700 with the 466. Great truck, literally no problems. Replaced the clutch this year and thats it. Not sure what year trucks your looking at.

Dt466 are bullet proof motors . I have an old tandem axle dump just used for on site hauling, and you can't kill the thing. Truck has a 8 speed as well.

Years
Looking at mid to late 90's. Thank you for the replies. Trying to keep it under 15,000$ closer to 10,000$ would be nice. Possible?

This is second hand, but I would go with the IH.
I heard a joke the other day about Freightshakers: You know the difference between a Freightliner and a Jehovah's Witness? You can close the door on a JW. PS Contrary to popular opinion, there is no "g" in Cummins. |

I'd go with the IH with the 466.
We have a 4400 with the 466 and it's been awesome. It does need to be turned up though. |

If you do not mind a little older truck The early 90's Internationals where a non electronic engine. They are easy to turn up the power and most anyone can work on them.
