boring under a 20 ft driveway

How do I bore under a 20 ft driveway. Is there something I can rent to do this. I'm needing to run a 1 in pipe under it. Please help. Thanks

Sub it out. Boring can be frustrating unless you've done it a few times.

Call your local irrigation supplier and see who they recommend.

I would imagine you would have to rent a trencher with a boring attachment. Not sure if anybody rents just a boring unit... at least in my area. Then your probably at $200-300 just for rental.

I agree with the above. Hire a sub who knows what they are doing. It can be a huge embarrassment and repair bill if you damage the driveway

Dingo has an attachment that works great. I think it comes with four 5' drill rods. But we usually is dig a deep wide trench going towards the driveway and dig under driveway with a shovel about 36"-42" to get a good start, helps us locate the rod where we want it and we start with one rod at a time. We drill one rod in till the rod ends and you unhook and hook your next rod. Be very careful, we got one few years back that was on a hill the only flat part was the width of the 10' driveway.

Not sure what you are needing it for but many time for irrigation we just hook it up to a Water hose and pound away (w/ a schedule 40). Actually did it last week. It took about 15min with me and one other guy. The driveway was roughly 20ft.

And you can buy a Borzit or use a pressure washer trick or a hammer and steel pipe. Ive even used a hydraulic bottle jack and lengths of steel bar. Its all risky and potentially embarrassing. Just sub it out

In our area theres a rental chain that rents out "moles" they come in 2" and 3" youll need a pretty large compressor, I wanna say they require about 250 cfm.

No a 150 cfm will push the mole through just fine. But sub the job out. Might cost you $250 or so. Can you go around the house ?

Just go to Ewing John Deere or homedepot and get the stuff to attach a pipe to a hose one coupler with a threaded end and a female to female 3/4 threaded coupler. It is usually slow starting, but once you get a hole going it goes quickly. For some jobs you may need to sub it out, but if I can save $200 and do it this way I will.
