traveling for jobs

I may be building a chimney and roofing a barn we just raised for a friend of mine. He lives about an hour and a half away (3hr round trip). For the chimney, it will be myself and one or two employees. The job will take a week or longer to complete. The roof will probably take four of us 2 plus days to complete. We've never done a job where a hotel stay was a consideration. I don't really want to bunk with an employee, but I also don't want to pay for an extra 3hrs per employee per day plus fuel. I will include the added expense into the job obviously. I was just looking for some insight from those who may have had a similar situation. Thanks.
