Self Propelled mechanism not working on 21" honda residential mower
Hello i got a honda hrr 21" self propelled residential class mower.
Yesterday i was mowing and the self propelled mechanism gave out. the wheels will not spin backwards either. i jacked the mower up and was unable to see what the problem was. does anyone have any ideas? thanks so much |

Never owned a honda, start with checking the belt, cable that ingauges the self propelled might be worn

Get me the serial number (MXXX-1234567) off the back of the mower deck, and I'll look up the service/troubleshooting procedure for you...

That's the model number; I need the serial number, it's on a sticker on the back and looks like this: MXXX-1234567 I need that number 'cause there are two types of SmartDrive transmissions on that model, and want to get you the right documents. While you're looking for the serial number, take a quick peek at the cable. Sounds like it might have come out of adjustment, broken, seized, etc. Just a guess. -Robert@Honda Caveat: I work for Honda, but the preceding was my opinion alone. |

oh, the cable is fine, i looked under the machine and when you pull it it seems to engage fine. its at the warranty shop now
