Like a friend of mine who once was telling about being 50 miles from a devastating tornado years ago, and was told by one of the listeners that they were once 1,000 miles from a hurricane,
, that is about as close as I've ever been, living here in the middle of the country, but from what I'm hearing on TV, this is not a situation that should be ignored. I'm guessing because of the impact of the hurricane (Irene?) last year in the same area, people will be much less apt to ignore the situation, and take steps to evacuate where necessary, perhaps saving many lives. Here's hoping all of you in the region remain safe.

Checked on my buddy tonight who lives 15 miles inland from atlantic city. Apparently the storm is going to take a sharp turn due to a high pressure area and head directly inland near him. Theres several other storms in the area to make it worse. Apparently some of the barrier islands or areas along the coast already have water over the streets because of a high tide. Sounds like its going to be a nasty one.

Just look at the radar where Baltimore is at. I'm a 1hr drive north west of Balt. Sitting right in the path of the worse part of the storm. I have stuff tied down. I hope it doesn't hit too bad. I have a crap load of work to do but can't even think about it right now.
