Exmark engine swap help
Ok guru's... I've got an older Exmark lazer that was recently repowered with a new 27 Kohler (about 100 hrs on it now). Shortly after repowering it, the hydro pumps went. I have a couple options, one of which include replacing the pumps/wheels motors.
I have, however, recently found two mowers that have sparked my imagination, in terms of an engine swap. One of which is a liquid cooled 27hp Exmark with a bad motor. Is swapping my 27 Kohler into the LC an option? Thanks! |

I can't think of any reason why you couldn't, the frames are the same. I would call exmark and talk to them about you idea and see what they say.

Sure...though you are taking for granted how well the machine was maintained before they blew the engine.

They're claiming 600 hours. Haven't inquired into it yet, just seeing if it was even possible before I waste someone's time. This would probably be a backup until spring, and then a primary mower on another crew.

Put a magnet in the hydrotank before you ink the deal...
