its that time where places are getiing bids together again. I get a call from a guy. I say hello this is Jim.
He says how the f are you? And I need and effing bid.
I say ok, is there a good time to meet?
He says f I don't know. How about effing 230?
I say that will work.

So I meet with him because I know the corporate company is good to deal with. The whole time every other word was f this, f that. I don't know how he deals with customers or with higher ups. But how the heck did he get that job?

Seriously, that kind of language is way out of line when you represent a company, especially if you don't know the other person, or have never even met them, and that goes even more so when the first contact is via the phone.

Nah we are all just trashy lawn morons that more than likely talk like that daily anyway. At least that is how most people view us.

There's a lot of truth in that.

Too bad some of the perception is based in reality though. Guys that talk like that anywhere within earshot of either their customers, potential customers, or just pasaserby's do the rest of us a great disservice. Believe me when I tell you this though, the lawn care profession is mild compared to the construction profession.
