How I got more calls for aeration than ever before in one week

Had these signs printed up this week. Placed them at major intersections leading out from the residential neighborhoods to the interstate. Outside the city limits so the codes nazi doesn't come snatch them up. Booked 17 aerating jobs in the last week! I know that doesn't sound like much, but keep in mind, I just started offering the service three years ago and had never really promoted it because I hated doing it.

I called my printer yesterday and told him to go ahead and print me 30 signs along the same lines except instead of LAWN AERATION they will say LEAF CLEANUP

I was at a customers house yesterday aerating, and the neighbor comes out and says HEY..are you the yard boy? I've seen those signs around.

The best part is when someone does what the sign says, they get an automated response back with a $10 off coupon. People are jumping all over it.

Tell me more. Are you just giving 10 bucks off before you even know how much it will be?

Most of the lots in this area are fairly standard 1/4 acre or less. I let them know early on where my price starts. My starting price is high enough that $10 really isn't that much to speak of. A standard 1/4 acre takes me around 30 minutes.

When they opt in via 90210, I get an alert telling me that (555) 555-5555 has requested my digital business card. I then instantly send them a direct text thanking them for their interest an asking how I can help them. When they respond, I ask for the address. I look it up on Google maps to get a good idea of what I'm working with. I do let them know that I ultimately need to look at the property in person. Most people are impressed simply based on the speed of my response.

Put it this way, I have to place a minimum order of 25 signs at $6 per sign. The first job with the $10 off paid for the signs. I was lucky enough to get 6 jobs in one neighborhood where I could unload once and knock them all out. One of those also requested slice seeding. I'm three weeks into renovation work and have already surpassed gross revenue from 2010 and 2011 combined.

Never had an office phone. I have always run 100% off a mobile phone.
