Price Check Please

Hi folks-

I found a 48in Lesco belt drive wb on Craigslist last night, and wondering what you think of the price. It is a 2002 model the hr meter says 3000hrs, and appearance is really good. The seller said that the 14hp Kawi was rebuilt 20hrs ago and starts on first pull, new bearings in the spindles, belts, and pulleys in good shape. He is asking $1100 or OBO, do you think he is asking a fair price? For what it's worth I used to own a belt drive version and hydro version when I had my business, so Im familiar with the workings and quality of cut. I've been out of the loop for about 5 yrs now and have no idea on pricing. This will only be used to cut my 15,000 sq ft Bermuda lawn 1 or 2 times per week........Thanks for your help, hoping to look at it tonight.

That's what I was thinking, I sold my belt drive for $600 as well but it was in worse shape than this one. What do you think is a fair offer? I was originally thinking of offering $8-850 but didn't want to lowball too much. Most lesco belt drives around here are selling for $850-1200.

That's what I'm going to do. My wife also put a limit on what I can spend since its for the house and not for making money lol! Now I wish I would've kept my hydro from my business, that thing was a perfect mower.....Thanks again!

I think the meter is incorrect. Best looking 3000 plus hour machine that doesn't look to be rebuilt.

Yeah, looks more like 300 hrs, not 3000.

If the engine was rebuilt (and to what extent?), then you never know how well it was done or how long it will last compared to an engine replcement.

I ended up offering $700 but he said $900 is his bottom dollar. I didn't want to drop that kind of cash on something with that many hrs, not too mention it was a bit more than my budget allows. If it had less hrs on it I might have been able to convince the wife for more cash, but it just isn't worth it in this case.
