Leaf Pickup

I am adding a fall leaf pickup to our services offered. We are not a lawn care business, but do offer outdoor home services. Fall has always been a down time for us, waiting on the snow to start falling as we do plowing in the winter. I have picked up a dump trailer with a billygoat vac system already mounted and ready to go to work. Also picked up a little wonder vac system that I need to get installed on another dumptrailer. I would like to be able to give quotes over the phone without having to spend time and money going to look at each job, anyone have ideas on pricing in the West Michigan area.
I would like to average about 45 per hour, including drive time. will be offering weekly, bi-weekly and one time deals.
Also have the equipment to blow all leaves to the roadside if necessary.

Leaf Pickup

I wouldnt entertain the idea of estimating over the phone unless you are familiar with the yard. Only because every house is different.

If your only going to do over the phone quotes you better come up with an hourly rate and a minimum charge. Hourly rate quotes usually scare customers off, as most don't realize how much can be done in a short amount of time, with professional equipment. You might want to consider going to the properties and quoting a total price. Once you get a customer base you will be able to have repeats for the following fall. One thing to keep in mind is most everyone in the lawn maintenance business offers fall cleanup services. I really think your going to have a hard time finding people looking for cleanups only. Curbside pickups may be where you want to focus your advertising.

Thanks for the commets, I will be doing quotes on site and not over the phone.
I think I am all ready to go now, new dump trailer with little wonder vac system mounted, billy goat walk behind blowers, red max 8500 back packs. Flyers designed and printed, prices figured out, places to dump leaves all lined up, SEO working on getting number one in the search engines, yard signs printed and ready to be put out. Now just waiting on the leaves

Good idea...it is hard enough to attempt estimates for lawn mowing via google or bing maps...With all that equipment & marketing, it seems as though you know what you're doing. GO for it man & good luck! !
