Trailer registration / bill of sale in MA
Hi guys,
I am planning on buying a used trailer from someone here in MA however, I do not know if it is legal to drive it back to my house with just a bill of sale. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Thanks. |

Yes and no. If you have an existing trailer plate you could. But if you don't you can not legally tow it. You could see if the current owner has it registered and just bring him his plate back.

Ahh OK. That's what I was told but I wanted to make sure before I actually went ahead and did something. Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know if registering a trailer as homemade trailer even though it is not homemade is illegal? I am being told anything under 3000lbs GVW does not need to be titled and can be registered as a homemade trailer. Does this sound right?
