6.7 cummins?

looking at an 08 2500 ram with 6.7 cummins, what do i need to look for? the dealership offers lifetime powertrain warranty on used vehicles under 80k, this one has 51k miles. not too worried about mechanical stuff because of that. what kind of fuel mileage are you guys getting on them?

Mine is an 09' 4x4 dually with deleted emissions and I was able to get 17.65 mpg's at 65 mph until I swapped to 4.10 gears. Deleting will get you 2 mpg's more instantly. Don't buy the warranty use the money to delete the emissions instead. You can do 10,000 mile oil changes if you delete as well which will allow you to run synthetic oil in a cost effective manner. Talk to any Diesel performance shop in your area and they can give you the scoop.

My 6.7 has an Air Dog fuel/air separating system, 5" turbo back exhaust (TBE), Smarty downloader, AFE Pro Dry Air filter, ARP .625 head studs, blocked EGR/deleted DPF, and Edge CS gauges.

Have the front end looked over very well. the engine eats front ends due to the weight. I have an 04 2500 diesel and love EVERYTHING about it except the front end.

ive got an 11' 3500 dually. has 34k trouble free miles on it sofar. cant wait to delet all the emissions crap real soon.

I was getting 17.65 until I did a 4.11 swap and now it's more like 15.6. If cash flow allows I'll do a free spin kit from Dynatrac and I may get back closer to 17. With 3.73's and a free spin kit 20 you should be able to get 20 with a dually 4x4.

I went ahead and bought the truck last week, its had front end stuff replaced recently. tuesday exhaust will be here to delete emissions crap and EGR delete will be here later this week. its a manual with 3.42 gears, so it oughta do ok on fuel with the deletes done

its not uncommon on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks especially diesels for front ends to wear out quickly. fords are especially bad about it

You may want to think about a FASS or Airdog if you plan on running the truck for a while. If you add any power with the tuner used to turn off the DPF you'll need ARP 625 head studs as well.
