Exmark HP 46 Triton - Need input

I got a lazer z with the ultracut 60 about 6 months ago and after using it want to replace my first mower, a hustler mini z 42, with an exmark. I am considering a used exmark lazer z hp with around 800 hours. It has the 46 triton and a 22 hp Briggs Intek. I love my ultracut, but after reading some reviews about the triton I am second guessing whether I should get it. Input please?

i used to use a 48 ultra cut lazer when working for someone else it was a great machine used to cut great except in wet grass it would clump up pretty bad (but all machines clump in wet) I have a 56 triton deck with 27hp and i could not be happier. i read the reviews before hand and was second guessing it myself but the deal was too good to pass up. (i figured if i didnt like it i could flip it and turn a profit that way) but i gotta say i could not be happier with the cut of this deck. from what i have gathered when the triton came out it wasnt designed correctly but exmark came out with an update kit that fixed the problems and fixed them coming from the factory mine is a 2007/8 it had the update from the factory. also having the baffles adjusted right helps. i think the cut is great from both decks. i would not hesitate to buy either deck.

Smaller the triton the worse they are.

I'm not sure. Most complaints are on the smaller ones. Guy who bought my bagger for a 52 tri vantage deck made his dealer buy his 50 triton back. He took a loss too. He was sick of having him out there all the time and people from exmark, if I recall correctly. He was not the only one according to him either.

60,66&72 tritons have no issues or many complaints, it was the smaller ones that were/are the terrible.

I have that exact mower just different engine. Mine is a 2008 lazer z hp with a 19kawi and 46 inch triton deck. I usually run mine with mulching blades and a real factory exmark mulch kit and it mows extremely well. I honestly have no complaints about the deck. With the mulch kit it looks like a stripe kit is on. I recently purchased a new jd ztrak after hearing so much about the 7 iron deck and even though I love the machine and it's built like a tank the quality of cut doesn't compare to the triton deck. Hope this will help.
