leaf volume/drought/2012

Anyone notice any decrease in the amount of leaf material this year? Between this season's drought and the decimation of the ash trees from the emerald ash borer, I've been double cutting and "mulching" in areas where I would usually be tarping and blowing.... I took these as an example, though the leaves were still falling briskly after I finished. But a few more cuts, and this property will be pretty clean, with very little blower action.
