Insurance requirements

I have one mil general liability insurance on my business though a company and my vehicles, home and boat though another. I was calling around to get quotes (to lower my premiums) on my personal insurance policies. Half the insurance companies I spoke with said the vehicle I use for work needs to be re registered to the company and insured with the company. The other half advised to leave it as it in my name and insure it as a family vehicle. The quote for my vehicle to be insured under the business is about $1,000 more than I currently pay. They have thoroughly confused me. I am all for saving money but I want to be covered. Seems if the vehicle is in my name and I have an accident while working my personal assets (home etc) are at risk if it is not insured under the business. How do you all insure your vehicles? Guess I need to consult an attorney.
