Toro 36 WB stalling

I have a 36" Toro WB and ever since the middle of the summer my machine would nearly stall from time to time. It never shut down but for a couple of seconds it would start to shut down and then immediately go back to full throttle. It didn't do it all the time but I did check the fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter and everything was fine. I went out yesterday and at least 6 times the mower did stall out and I pulled the cord and it immediately started back up. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Thank you!

Stens igniters are pretty cheap. Nova is another aftermarket brand. Does it only do this after its warmed up?

Could be the pick up tube collapsing or fuel line. Have you checked the vent on the has cap?

Yes, it only does it after it's been running for a while. It doesn't do it all the time but it seemed to be trying to stall when I would slow down when going around a tree or after a turn. Yesterday was the first time it actually crapped out and it happened at anytime. I will look into the Sten igniters. Thank you!

Yep, I checked the gas cap and it was fine. Fuel lines seemed to be fine. I will probably take it into my local shop in the spring. Thank you.

First off we can't "check" fuel filters, no amount of visual inspection on filters and spark plugs is doing any good, replace that thing already!
Same with the air filter, start using a pre-cleaner, too.

As for fuel lines, they can corrode on the inside and start breaking off little rubber pieces that get sent down stream and you'll never see it, here it is best to know how old the fuel lines are and if in doubt, replace the whole lot... Generally speaking they'll hold up between 2 to 5 years, at which time they'll likely require the next replacement (thou some apparently do hold up longer).

Then if it still does it I am thinking it could be the ignition spark plug wire-to-clip connection, or even the clip-to-spark plug itself has come loose and it's causing fault under operation, to check into this the boot has to come off the wire and you may want to have a new coil handy JUST in case althou if you know a little about stripping a wire and how to get the clip to connect to it and then just make sure it clamps to the top of the spark plug solid, a little die-electric grease might help as well.

Generally fuel problems aren't heat sensitive.

I was out today mowing a few yards and it was bogging down again but it seems that it does it when I hit a bump on uneven terrain or when I do a 3 point turn on a lawn. I've poked around the engine and pulled the boots off the spark plugs and they seem to be tight. Anything else I should look for?
