Marketing suggestions please

I was hoping to dedicate a post to good marketing strategies people have had in the past/ present. ie: door hangers, cold calling, etc.

I'm currently looking to start a lawn care company, strictly turf programs. Does anyone have any ideas where I can find statistical information geared towards that niche to narrow down to higher potential neighborhoods/ clientele?
