Trac Vac on a metro?
Hey,
I'm still fairly new to the idea of a trac vac. I've looked around a lot and tried to research them but there isn't much info out there. Does anyone know if a trac vac would work well on a 36" Exmark Metro with a fixed deck? Any comments would be appreciated Thanks |

i have a rack'em 4.4 cubic foot grass catcher for my metros it works really well. they do make an extension for it that would increase it by 4.3 cubic feet which would be good for leaf season i think but i have never used the extension not sure how cumbersome it would be to deal with.
http://www.rackemmfg.com/hammer-pain...s-catcher.html mine is older and came without the easy lift handles but is the same catcher i have the ultra vac for my lazer that works great. i dont know much about the trac vac looks like they are made for tractors and ztrs not sure how a belt drive walkbehind would do that. |

I have a grass gobbler (same thing as your grass catcher) and I can't stand it. Even with cutting it twice before, it still fills up way to fast.
How do you like your ultravac? I was thinking of just purchasing the blower and custom fabricating the rest of it |

i love the ultra vac it works great!! i have a 56" triton deck with a 27 hp kohler engine on it. i still run high lift notched blades and it sucks up everything in sight. its easy on/ easy off just a couple pins to remove the rear section. the belt has a spring tensioner on it that your release by hand to take the belt on and off. it is tight on the trailer width my trailer measures 74" wide and i have about 1" on each side with the vac on

So it adds 18" to the width of the mower?

it adds quite a bit to it. i will measure it tonight and get back to you on the exact measurement of it. it does pull a lot of hp to get that thing going it runs of the deck belt. my dad has a 48" lazer with a 23hp kohler and it is all that engine can do to get that thing going once its going you can tell that she is really working

I had a 36 metro with a floating deck and I installed a track vac. I wouldn't t do it on a 36 maybe 48-60 " . It gets top heavy and where I live I have a lot of hill, so it was unstable. I would prefer hydro to.
