How many people do you employ? Can one of your employees do part time work on fert?

Currently I've only got three part timers, so I'm trying hire on a full timer because I'd like to grow more on the Fertilization side. For the mowing I eventually plan to have a crew do commercial grounds care and maybe a little residential.

How do you intend to get these clients? Hoping and planning are two very different things.

Develop some assumptions for your fertilizing business plans. Be reasonable in your assumptions. If you think a tech can do 8 home an hour, your very wrong. But 2 or 3 per hour is fair. How many square feet per hour/day is that? Work those numbers into your business plan and the associated spread sheets and run with it. If it turns out your assumptions are wrong, you will either go too many or not enough responses to your marketing. If thats the case, rework your plan and try again until you have enough data to understand the relationships within your business plan and spreadsheets.

I'm plotting that down on my new business plan so i can chart my growth in a controlled manor. I'm also talking to some other guys that do Fert only work and getting some figures together, so yes my plan is to map out exactly how I'm going to do this while growing at a balanced rate.

Hey guys well my plan is working good so far and I'm about to buy a sprayer this year, do you guys think 200-500 lawns would be more than enough for one turf technician to manage?

Don't turn down business. Grow as big you can handle it. If you need to hire then hire.

The only business i had to turn away is from another guy who wanted me to treat his lawn, the only problem being is he was in IOWA so i guess I'm doing something right for my name to make it all the way up there.
