Red Tide shows it's ugly head

Reports of high numbers of the microbial that causes Red Tide have been spotted off the coast of Pinellis/Manatee County and also the Charlotte/Lee county. Libby Carnahan, Pinellas County Sea Grant Extension Agent feels this out break might worse than the 2005 Red Tide.

Red Tide is caused by the harmful bacteria that produces a toxin that kills fish and other live forms it come in contact with. One of the major concerns is the smell from the Beach which burns peoples throats. Red Tide kills the tourist/snowbird economy which these areas are Depended on. Bad memories of Red Tide will effect our economy for years after a Red Tide.

Might Add that while Red Tide has been around since the beginning of time, Tree Huggers blame Lawn Fertilizer run off.

it is one thing to do a off label applications. It is total stupidity to post it on the world wide web and expect people to approve.

Thankfully we haven't had Red Tide up here in the past two years. We have had it almost every year prior and it is mild to unbearable depending on the tide and wind. I can't even let my kids out to play when it gets really bad, it will burn your throat and eyes like crazy. I hope the tides keep it offshore from you guys
