Vanguard 16hp blowing black smoke!
My leaf loader is acting up. Won't rev up and getting too much fuel or something. Choke is good put new plugs in butterfly valve is working. No more than 200 hours. Got lucky that I just finished the first round of leaf pick ups. Also pulled the plug wire off on one cyl and it slowed down but didn't cut off so I would think the plug wires and coil are good.

That would do it....a clogged air filter is just like putting your hand over the front of the carb and choking it..

Just ordered 12 filters and pre filters for $75 to my door off eBay so I think I'll be good for a while. Love eBay and they were OEM filters.

Leaf season-you may want to be cleaning filters daily or even more frequently. A portable air tank with a hose set up to take blow guns is handy to take along during the fall. Keep the engines heads, shrouds, intake screens, carb, radiator screens, etc., all cleared of dust build-up throughout the day. A three or four inch paintbrush also, for brushing off caked up matter from prefilters or around filter housings before opening them for service.
