out of state sales tax

I live and work in CT. I have to purchase some plant material in NJ to complete a job. I have a tax resale number in CT. I'm unsure how taxation works across state lines. Am I stuck paying tax on this material? Thanks.

They make us (Landscapers) pay sales tax here on plant material.
I think if you have a Garden Center, and resell it to the public.you might not have to pay the sales tax to the nursery, but I am not sure about that.

If you're picking it up in NJ, you should have to pay NJ sales tax or have a tax account there. If they ship it to across state lines, no NJ sales tax.
