I wouldn't drop them unless I hated the yard and it didn't pay well. I live in the country and have 4 dogs. My yard is like a mine field. Most of my customers are in the country and have one or two dogs as well. Dog poo doesn't bother me so much unless it gets stuck in the tire treads. But I just deal with it. One of my properties has horse poo on the lawn sometimes. I just mow around that or scoop it up for the lady if I feel like it.

I've got two accounts that have dogs. I charge them $10 extra, carry a 10' garden hose in the truck, if there is not one on the customers property I can use. Plus they give me plenty of extra work through out the year. I quickly hose my boots, the mower rear tires and a quick squirt under the deck if the smell is bad. Then I'm on my way in 5 minutes, no big deal. I grew up shoveling **** in a dairy barn and slopping hogs, I'm used to smelly boots. Husky liners are a must for the truck.

Dog crap makes me physically ill. I would drop any account that did not make attempts to clean up after their dog. I would be flexible with someone if there was just a small amount, but you can tell if if someone simply does not care and their yard is covered. I have a very large yard and I would still never own dog. My daughter and wife bothered me for awhile about getting a dog. I told them I would not clean up after it or have anything to do with it, they eventually moved on to something else.

Well i think there is something worse than hosing off tires - Hitting crap with a trimmer, and then frantically hosing off your face and spitting.

Not as bad as hitting puke with the trimmer.

I just raise there rates til they say they will do it themselves. I just hate having to fix something after running through that crap. Not to mention it stinks like crazy in the enclosed trailer. Why put up with crap that can be avoided. I'm doing this so I can do what I want how I want. I don't think of it as work, just a vacation. And what fun is it on vacation dealing with dog crap. No thanks, next.

I guess it would depend on how bad it actually is.
so far I've just avoided them when I'm trimming and let the mower run over them when mowing. I have a dog myself and have never picked up after it. |

I figure if they don't care to pick it up then they won't mind me running it over and spraying their house.
