a competitor of mine has a woods front mount diesel. he tells me every time i see him how i shoulda got one instead of a scag mid mount. the scag is faster and leaves a better cut in my opinion. this summer, he borrowed my scag for a few weeks because he blew a spindle on his deck. had a heck of a time finding a replacement for it. he ended up buying a brand new 60 inch deck for it to the tune of 3k bucks cause he couldn't get the dealer to get the part for whatever reason. and my used scag midmount is still running great with high hours compared to his brand new woods diesel.

I don't doubt the quality of the woods machine, and a front mount has it's place. but i don't think i'd ever buy one.

Parts are easy to get. You just have to know where. The front mount you're looking at may have been built by Grasshopper. Some of the mid mounts were built by Gravely. Just post a pic and it can be identified.
