Pick-up Sticks

I was playing pick-up sticks in lawns this morning after our little storm yesterday. I came about two inches from grabbing a pygmy rattler that was just minding his own business. Nice wake-up call on my first yard of the day. The rest of the morning I made sure the "sticks" were really sticks before grabbing

I used to see them in my beds when I lived in Apopka, Not sure how venomous they are, I do think one killed my cat though.
