Truck and trailer weight questions

Duffster is right on all accounts, also that truck should tare near 15k. My 450tares out at 9660 and my L8000 comes in at 19.5k, that truck should be somewhere in the middle.

Do hydraulic vs air brakes have any effect on this? I was under the impression federal law required a CDL for vehicles with air brakes, regardless of GVWR.

No CDL if using air brakes under 26k.

Type of brakes has no bearing on wether or not you need a CDL.
