I have one and have used it on small to medium sized properties that I maintain. The mulch ratio depends greatly on the material and type of leaves you are picking up. If the material you are picking up is wet the machine tends to clog easily. If you can get to the yards to clean on a regular basis it is great. My way of operating currently due to the fact I don't have a bagger for my mower I will mow and mulch the leaves and get everything windrowed and then run the vac over what needs picked up. It is also nice to clean up after mulch jobs etc...I got mine about 8 years ago 8 hp not selfpropelled now they have that as an option and I have seen them retail for upwards of 1400. It also leaves a nice stipe effect as well

you cant even compare the two....price or performance....it will do twice the work in half the time...the shredding ability of the vac is much better and the capacity the bag holds is much greater as well. I want to say it wont do anything more than the craftsman will it will just do it with more ease and quicker. i would recommend getting one just be sure to have the work lined up for it

Whatever you do, get a demo. You'll understand a products strengths and weaknesses for your application before you shell out your hard earned money. As for the self propelled, that was discontinued about 3 years ago.
