giant vac impeller issues
I have a 16 hp giant vac leaf loader.. the machine vibrates really bad and i have figured out it is the impeller.. very worn and chewed up.. ok heres the problem i tried everything to get it off, including heat and a puller... it only has a ring on the impeller to pull from and not any holes for bolts to push it off shaft.. any idea where to get the right tool to remove it??also where to get an impeller as giant vac is outta businesss. thanks for help

They are not out of business scag now owns and operates them. You need to find a giant vac dealer. As for the impeller removal iv always let the dealer do that task for me it's a nightmare to get them off. Iv probably replaced 3 of them on my 20 hp giant vacs thus far and my swing away is in need of replacement as well. I am gona wait till after spring clean ups and all that sand before I take the hit.

Puller and an impact gun is what I would go for.
Put tension on the puller then lightly rap the impeller to hopefully create enough vibration to make it pop loose. Any penetrating oil and heat should work also. I'd just make sure not to over-heat the end of the motor shaft. You should be able to get a puller stud through the mounting hole. I'd use a bolt with the head cut off for the puller shaft to sit on. Or a long bolt that gives you about 1/4 of play to allow the impeller to release. Just make sure you have plenty of threads going into the motor shaft. .....

I would try a cut-off wheel on opposite sides of the impeller.
