right time to upgrade?

My biz is small, 1-2 guys usually, and its been 1 diesel pickup truck that does everything from towing, estimates, daily driver. Seems like I'm always overwieght hauling materials w/dump trailer, had a kubota 121 mini ex and that was very heavy for pickup truck, now its time to plow.. so for years I've been saying I've got to have a go around truck, daily driver for estimates, errands, etc. then have a dedicated work truck that will tow haul and do the work.. any one face this decision lately?

i had the same problem. I picked up up a '90 mazda 4wd truck and haven't looked back. cheap truck to buy and it has already paid for itself in fuel savings. it was a good move in hindsight. it has also minimized wear and tear on my larger trucks.

buying a dump tomorrow to take over towing and hauling. I had an older dump and sold it, and just like you said, I was overworking my f250 in the meantime. nothing like having the right tool for the job, efficiency is the best way to make money!

Same here. 2 guy setup but "need" 2 trucks. I couldn't think about how bad it would be to be out of a truck for a week for repairs. I also got tired of unhooking for errands, estimates, etc.

I plan to buy a second diesel in the spring and sell my 1500. I want the mileage, tow capacity, and engine longevity. The cummins will be my DD and extra truck and the new (used) diesel will be for the crew full time.

Yep thanks guys that's what I've been dealing with; always on the edge with F350 pickup, it does the job but its pushin it to its limits and I'm overloaded. So I have the dump trailer now its just should I get the flatbed dually and stick withthe d trailer or get the dump? and plowing with a flatbed without spreader in back?
