Tundra upfit service body

This has been discuss a little but not in much detail.

I talked to knapheide today and they say the reason they will not upfit the tundra is because Toyota will not allow it.

I decided to call Toyota (Phone: 800-331-4331) to let them know that they are missing the boat.

Why build a heavy 1/2 ton if you do not allow some sort of upfitting. The truck will do it, best truck in the class and it would be great. As it stands they over built a city pick up.

If you know someone that will put on a lanscape bed with a dovetail let me know.

I suppose that could be true but the Chevy Colorado can handle it. It is a mid-size truck where as the Tundra is a pretty stout truck.

I called Toyota nontheless to tell them I will be selling some of my trucks to move elsewhere.

It bites a bug one I like the truck very much.

This would be a residental service truck with 21"s or 36" mowers only plus the hand helds.

Thanks for your feed back Larry! How you doing ?

Doing ok here ,,,how about you?

Toyota actually recalled several years of trucks to have the frames welded, Im suprised they didnt have to purchase the trucks back. I wasnt trying to be funny.

Toyota has tried to get into the work truck market over and over and have failed miserabely.

I would put a landscape bed on a ranger or s-10 colorado eighter, it just leads to alot of extra repairs.

Pretty happy with the Tundra as a whole. Seems very solid.

My options are the colorado... or jump to the iszuzu / fuso or a 1 ton.

Have not considered those. Have not heard much about them on lawn site either. Mostly the Iszuz and the Fuso talked about here.

Will look at them for sure. Funny the Toyota CSR did not mention them.

Im running a chevrolet 3500 cut away with a 18' box and I like it very much.

The colorado rangers will wear out brakes and front end parts like crazy, not to mention that the transmissions and rear ends wont last eighter. The exhaust will overheat and melt the converters.

You might check with J&I in Madill, OK. Since they have carry out on the beds they might make one then you could put it on. http://jimfg.com/
