Where to get parts?? -- Kawasaki discontinued

I have an 2007 model Exmark ZTR with the Kawasaki FH580V-AS18-R engine and I can't get repair parts.

I called Kawi direct and they told me the part i need is discontinued.

Where do you guys find discontinued parts?

The part I need is the rubber contact that makes the starter work. It is Kawasaki part number 13101-7003 for the gear assembly which contains the part I need.

The bendix assembly is available, just replace the whole assembly--it's not that expensive.

Did ya know that quite a few dealerships charge for shipping to order in non stock items ?

Just throwing it out there as something to ask about before ordering parts from your local dealers......

Where is the Bendix assembly available? Are they the manufacturer of the starter?

They have to order from Kawasaki and therefore nogo.

So, I glued what was left of the rubber starter part back on the sprocket.. I used RTV High-temp Silicone Gasket Maker that cures in 24 hrs so I'll test it tomorrow.
