Bioretention infiltration rates
Does anybody know of a good test to use to test the infiltration rates of bioretention soils?
I was thinking of a 5 gallon bucket, cut out the bottom, place a screen over it. Measure the amount of water put in the top and measure how much comes out the bottom after a given time. Can anybody think of a more "scientific" way? Thanks in advance. |

The simplest, cheapest way would be to get a double ring infiltrometer. While the simplest version of this apparatus/test won't give you high resolution results, it should be sufficient for what you need to do.
