Little wonder blower fan installation trouble

I have a little wonder blower, 13hp model with a honda gx390 engine on it, and i did some engine work that require me to pull the fan off. I did that no problem by using the inner threads on the welded bolt on the fan, but i am now having problems getting the fan back on. Seems like the fan is to small for the shaft, but that can't be because i just took it off. Any tips on getting the fan back on would be appreciated. Seems to me it should just slip right on, but that is not the case at all...

With some abrasive cloth, clean up the bore and the crankshaft--make sure there no burrs on the crank end or on the bore that may be obstructing installation. Try with out the key installed first. You're correct, it should be a slip fit. A bit of antisieze may help a bit.
