Hustler super z. Vx4
I purchased a new super z about six months back. The first time I changed blades I realized that one of the blade mounting bolt was shorter than the other two. I thought that was the standard. I contacted my closest hustler dealer and was told that all were the same size and to bring it over. I took it to him and he wouldn't even walk outside to look at what I was telling him about. He offered to fix it if I paid him. What's the point of an WARRANTY!!! When I was in the market to buy a mower I contacted him since he was the closest and told him I was intrested in a Kohler motor and was hung up on. I am in the market for another mower and am skeptical of buying another hustler considering this is the kind if customer service I get in my area!

Cutting up,
This past September we have made a slight change in the spindle shaft requiring a shorter bolt. All three of your bolts should be the same lengths. You've said in the past that you use twin blades on your machine and you requested a longer bolt to accommodate the extra blade. Is it possible you mixed up the stock bolt with the modified system bolts? The attitude of the dealer concerns me. If he walked away because of the twin blade system I don't blame him, if that wasn't the reason I would be disappointed. Brian O |

The shorter bolt wasn't long enough to mount twins and I never got the longer bolts. I ran the twins about thirty mins. Just a trial. The dealer which is closest to me gives hustler a bad name in our area. It's not very professional to hang up on a customer when asking about different options.

Without knowing you model and serial number my best guess would be a length of 2.25" on the blade bolt.
