How did you guess....My boss went up to NY Times Square for the ball drop and came back sick...
After a week or 2 of getting everybody else sick...I got it...Gee Thanks...

BTW...did I leave out any other possible failures for the headgasket ?

A)..Block dished out while cleaning the gasket area with a die grinder..new engine block ruined..
B)...Head bolts tightened with impact gun...stripped out threads in the block...new engine block ruined..
C)...The old head gasket still looked ok...so it was re used...
D)...Newly hired ace mechanic talks a better engine than he builds..
E)...Cyl head dished out while cleaning the gasket area with a die grinder...head out of flat.
F)...Head gasket never replaced...shop just filed the warranty and pocketed the money.
G)...Any of these could be the right answer...

No guesses..????
Hint...there might be more than 1 correct answer...

Piston Slapper, any one of the answers could be the cause of the condition you described especially if the tech working on the engine had no idea what he was doing.
