yellowpages.com
is anyone listed with yellowpages.com? I just got off a phone with a sales rep preety much guaranteeing me a ton of calls by getting me into yellowpages.com and on the top spot with google, yahoo, and bing I am scepticle about trying this cause my company is fairly new and dont want to waste money on advertising thats not going to work but lets say it would get me about 5-10 calls a month then it would be worth it to me so has anyone done this and how was your experience with it?

Good and bad,if your working a small area what good does it do to get a call from 300 miles away?Better to push local advertising and get them to go to your website directly.

They'll get you a yellowpages.com listing, because that's what they're selling you. They can't guarantee anything re: the search engines, nor will that be the outcome.

Instead of betting on yellowpages go to a casino, the odds are better at a casino you will get a return on your investment.
A company cold calling you is also calling every other lawn and landscaper in your area to sell them whatever service level the contractor can afford. |

Good luck trying to cancel with either the online or hard copy Yellow Pages once you start with them....very frustrating!!!! Also beware of that there are a lot of scammers that make you believe that they're the "real yellow pages" that aren't....I have a $600 bill from one of them that I refuse to pay. The called my wife to "confirm our free listing" and then 3 months later send a statement with interest. That was "Online Public Yellow Pages."

I said it jn the other thread but its gone now. I owed them 1500 but told them I'm not paying and i would take them to court with all the data their salesman gave me and promises and guarantees. They said sorry and we agreed on paying half. Still don't think i gave them that.
They are complete losers and still call trying to sell to me Posted via Mobile Device |

There are a couple of domain name "companies" that love to do this. They send "official letters" letting you know your domain name is about to expire and that the renewal is $XX amount of dollars.

Expect the (few) calls you do get to start like this:
You: Hello, thank you for calling XXX lawn care how may we help you Them: How much do you charge to cut my lawn? You(if smart): *click* |
