Do you think a side gate on a utility trailor is useful?
Any comments or suggestions are much appreciated!

We have one and I have mixed feelings about it. It can be useful no doubt but can also be in the way. Ours is a full 62" ramp door, but if I did it again I might just go regular door with pull out ramps or similar. The other option would be ramp on one side and door on the other.

Personally, I have never found much use for a side gate. On the business side my larger mowers would never be able to access the trailer by this method. The only small mower I carry is a pushmower and it goes in the pick up bed. For personal use it is useless also as the quads I haul are much to large to fit sideways on the trailer. I borrowed my buddy's trailer at times which has the side gate. It was more cumbersome to strap down my larger mower, as it had 2 less tie down points because of the gate.
