The poster was talking about a sloping back yard, not gullys or drainage ditch. Every mower has limitations but a mid-mount Z machine is very dangerous on slopes. My Hustler S/Z took me on a couple very wild slides at very unsispectingly times. It would slide on a small slope if the grass was damp when you least expect it to. Yes, the Walker does not do well going across a steep slop due to the weight shift but up and down you have compleat control.
