Hiring New Technicians
I'm just trying to get some feedback out there regarding hiring processes, and hiring new lawn and tree techs. I am at a point where I need to hire another Tech. The guys I have are really good and I can trust them with all aspects of application and mixing product. I want hire a tech with experience, knowledge, and a genuine care to do the job right. Am I asking too much? What do some of you do in you're areas to ensure you hire good techs?

what we did this year was promote within the company. We look to see how does the best in the mowing division and ask them if they want to do lawn and tree. We didn't want to hire someone with experience in lawn and tree. We want to train someone how we do it, not how their old company did it. I know every company is different and some won't have access to another division to pull people from.

I would love to have the resource to hire from within. We are strictly an application company. I understand what you are saying about being able to train someone the way we do things. I guess that could be a pro to hiring someone that has little to no experience.
