52" Vride yes or no?

I am going to go look at a Vride in the morning, the dealer is having to store it till next spring and is acting like he wants to make a deal. It is a 2012 light use demo that hasn't left the store parking lot. I would like to hear from someone that has experience with one, I like the way that it drove around there and handles great. I've used a friends ZTR that has the same deck and was impressed with it. All said and done this will be cheaper than the Exmark 52" TT and will be able to mow a wider range of conditions.

I purchased a 2012 52" v ride this past spring and love it. I had a everride scorpion 52" floating deck and the scag is hand down way better. The v ride was night and day with the ability to hold hills this resulted in being able to use a stand on more lawns than a walk behind. Quarter inch height adjustment, a hydraulic oil cooler,heavy duty air filter and less weight. I was able to increase productivity by at least 2 lawns per day. A couple of thing i don't like is one spark plug is very hard to access do to the battery and exhaust location and the oil filter is a little crammed. I can't speak for the grandstand/vantage or the wright. I would recommend this mower, but if you have really steep hills than the walk behind is your only option.

Thanks for the input that was what I was looking for. I will still have my 52 and 36 turf tracers but need a newer main mower that will perform better in heavy growth and in weedy areas. If all I cut was perfect lawns I would stay with the Exmark but they don't do well in crab grass or wet lawns.

Make sure its a 2012 model. The standing platform folds all the way up saving space on a trailer. Plus it can be used in walk behind mode but, it doesn't have good traction without the weight from the operator. The 2011 models platform only fold about half way. The velocity deck is awesome it will eliminate alot more double cutting and leaves a clean cut. Good Luck.

I don't know if this is your first stander but once you get the hang of it you will love it, we have 2011 40" and a 2012 52" Grandstands we love em, the scag is a great mower as well. Sounds like you got a great deal, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed, next season.

I have a 61" vride and love it...once you get used to it you wont wanna run any.other mower

My 36 has about 800 hours on it so far. I took off the big goofy pad, smaller fold down platform (older model), and the weights under the deck. It lightened up my mower by an easy 80 lbs, made it want to nose dive down hills cross cuts less, and allows the operator to put his weight further forward on hill climbs which keeps the nose down better.

Scag made it I made it better. I also have much bigger tires on my 36 then it came with and after I emailed Scag pictures and bugged them about it they too started to put the same size tires on the new 36's.
